Use
1. inorganic black pigment. Widely used in the coloring of ink, watercolor, oil color, paint, architectural paint, and building materials. The electronic telecommunications industry is used to manufacture magnetic steel, and also acts as a cathode plate for alkaline dry batteries, and is used for steel flaw detection in the machine manufacturing industry.
2. Used in the metallurgical industry, it is an important mineral raw material for ironmaking
Production method
ferrous sulfate oxidation method is used. Under stirring, enough 30% sodium hydroxide is added to the solution containing 150g/L ferrous sulfate to precipitate the 40% iron into Fe3 +(OH)3. At the same time, Fe2 + to Fe3 + is oxidized by air at 30~35 ℃, and the pH value is reduced from 6 to 3.5 to form crystal nuclei. Then add ferrous sulfate (14 times the crystal nucleus), adjust the pH value to 4 with sodium hydroxide, and then oxidize with air at 80°C, and then spray dry to obtain goethite iron oxide. The above-mentioned iron oxide is placed in a converter, introduced into a hydrogen stream containing 20% water vapor, heated at 425-450°C, and then heated at 100-150°C in a nitrogen stream containing 10% air to obtain ferrous oxide 28% The iron oxide black pigment has a particle length and width of 0.7 μm and 0.5 μm, a specific surface area of 8 m2 /g, and a tinting force of up to 180%.
